CM Sindh forms committee as DG Rangers discusses controversial ads
KARACHI: Director General (DG) Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Major General Bilal Akbar called on Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and discussed publication of anti-Rangers advertisements by police among other matters of mutual interest here on Thursday.

The DG Rangers briefed the chief minister about details and progress on ongoing operation against criminals and terrorists in Karachi. Law and order situation and other issues were also discussed during the meeting.

Source told Geo News that the Sindh Police has intimated a strict action against officials involved in the issue of anti-Rangers ads, which they say were published with ‘malicious intentions and ulterior motives’.

Besides the CM Sindh, Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial and law enforcement agencies have also taken notice of the matter.

CM Sindh forms another committee

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shah has formed another committee to investigate the issue of anti-Rangers advertisements.

According to sources, AIG Karachi Mushtaq Mehar will head the committee, which is likely to be comprised of DIG CTD Sanaullah Abbasi and DIG Traffic Ameer Sheikh.

The committee is tasked to present the inquiry report to the chief minister within three days.

AIG Mehar said the purpose of the advertisements in question was to disrupt the ongoing Karachi Operation.
