Saleem Shahzad murder: Commission to submit report to PM today
ISLAMABAD: The commission formed to probe the murder of journalist Saleem Shahzad has completed its report and will present it to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani today (Tuesday), Geo News reported.

A high-level judicial commission headed by Justice Saqib Nisar was formed to probe the killing of journalist Syed Saleem Shahzad. The PFUJ president was also included in this commission as a member.

The enquiry proceedings of the commission, on fast track basis, completed its report in six months that will be presented to the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

The government has ensured action against the culprits in accordance with the findings of the judicial commission.

Sources told Geo News that the report includes PFUJ recommendations for the welfare of journalists along with assistance to Shahzad’s family.

The commission had recorded the interviews of 41 individuals that are part of the report.

The commission had earlier recommended the government to make the report public.
