ECP submits reply in bogus voter lists case
ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has submitted reply in bogus voter lists case in the Supreme Court, Geo News reported.

Three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary heard the bogus voter lists and preparation of computerized list case here on Thursday.

DG Election Sher Afgan stated that ECP and NADRA have inked an agreement for preparation of voter lists. He said 4.8 million voters name have been included on permanent residential address bases while 4.2 million voters have same temporary and permanent address.

The DG further said NADRA’s database is used for confirmation of voters, adding that they can confirm their name in the lists via SMS before election announced. The information could also be corrected, he added.

Chief Justice in his remarks appreciated the reply of ECP and said, whoever has to correct the mistakes he/she can do so.

Later, the case was adjourned till November 15.
