Pakistan to raise drone issue at UN
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to raise the issue of US drone attacks on its territory at the General Council of the United Nations in September this year, Geo News reported Sunday.

Sources said that the country has also decided to contact with the Human Rights Commission against the drone strikes as it considered the attacks violation of its sovereignty.

Islamabad has long been publicly opposing drone strikes in its tribal belt near Afghan border.

However, it is claimed that the Americans have Pakistan’s tacit approval in launching such attacks against what they believe militants raging war against foreign forces stationed in Afghanistan have safe havens in the semi-autonomous tribal belt.
