Parliamentary committee to meet today, as Punjab Govt., opposition fail to resolve interim CM issue
LAHORE: Unlike KPK, Balochistan and Sindh, Punjab following in the footstep of the center failed to resolve the issue of appointment of a caretaker chief minister for the province and the matter has now been referred to the parliamentary committee, which is to meet here today (Sunday).

The parliamentary committee comprises of the ruling N-League’s Rana Sanaullah, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rahman and Iqbal Chanar, while from the opposition Shaukat Basra, Chaudhry Zaheer and Zulfiquar Gondal.

The maiden meeting of this six-member parliamentary committee will be held at the Punjab assembly this morning today.

Constitutionally, the parliamentary committee has to arrive at a consensus decision relating to the selection of caretaker CM within three days failing which the matter will be passed on to the Provincial Election Commission for their final word.
