PIA launches training program for new ‘premier service’ recruits

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines is embarking on a 12-week training program for its newly inducted cabin crew. The airline recently launched a Premier Service and has inducted 100 new recruits as the airline plans to further expand the new service.

A statement issued by the airline stated, PIA Training Centre (PTC) is starting a 12-week Cabin Crew Basic Training program for the newly recruited cabin crew.

The new recruits will be trained on the A330-300 aircraft and will include a combination of theory and practical hands on training.

The recruits will be trained through multiple modules including, aviation indoctrination, in flight service procedures training, safety equipment and emergency procedures training, aviation first aid and aviation security.

Other modules include grooming, personality development, trainings for announcements, customer care and service, crew resource management and dangerous goods regulations.

The airline claims to have one of the most advanced airline-training infrastructure setup, which has been approved by local and international regulatory authorities including CAA, ICAO and IATA.

The airline’s CEO, Mr. Bernd Hildenbrand regarded this as an important step towards bringing about improvement in the airline’s service and giving young dedicated people the chance to realize their professional dreams.

Pakistan International Airlines training center has in the past played a key role in training pilots, engineers and cabin crew from over 30 different airlines and agencies across the world.
