CTD arrest four suspected terrorists from Karachi, weapons recovered

KARACHI: The Counter-terrorism Department personnel in a raid on Friday took into custody four suspected terrorists from Karachi.

According to the CTD, the terrorists were arrested from Bilal Colony, Korangi and Orangi Town.

Meanwhile, six suicide jackets, four hand grenades and mobile phones were recovered from terrorists’ possession, the CTD said.

Cash and three 30 bore pistols were also recovered from the suspects.

According to the CTD, the terrorists received training from Afghanistan and were part of sectarian killings.

SP CTD Junaid Shaikh  said that the network of the terrorists stretches from Karachi to Afghanistan.

He said that the terrorists have been identified as Hafiz Noor alias Ghousia, Zakaria aka Muavia, Muzaffar Ashiq aka Kaji, and Moiz.

Security personnel said they are conducting forensic tests of the weapons recovered from terrorists.

SP CTD said that one of the militants Hafiz Noor has made more than 50 suicide jackets and two of his accomplices are on the run, whereas, one is behind the bars.

SP Shaikh also revealed that the terrorists were also involved in fighting against security forces in tribal areas.

He said the militants also used to assist target killers and extortionists.
