FAISALABAD: Pakistan People’s Party leader Khursheed Shah said that if his party would have stood with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf over the Panama Leaks issue the entire system would have collapsed.

Shah speaking to journalists on Monday said the entry of Qatar Prince in the Panama Leaks had raised several suspicions. “Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has never before mentioned the Qatar Prince. Using him to save the prime minister is distressing.”

The ball is now in the prime minister’s court, he said, adding that it was up to the prime minister to show how much he respected the parliament.

Shah said that the PPP was an anti-establishment party and even today it is considered anti-establishment. “Why should the PPP support the 24th amendment?”

PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the PPP had left its politics of 90s, however the PML-N was still stuck in that time. “Nawaz Sharif asks his favourites to give statements in his favour. Why does he not clarify himself?”

In documents submitted to the Supreme Court a letter says that the Qatar Prince Jasim gave money to the premier’s family for the purchase of flats in London. Sharif’s children’s counsel Akram Sheikh submitted the letter addressed to the apex court.
