KARACHI: Pakistan’s bowling duo, spinner Yasir Shah and fast bowler Wahab Riaz have denied the reports of any rifts between the two after both were caught exchanging hot words during team’s routine football game by the photojournalists.

Photographs of Yasir pushing Wahab and Mohammad Nawaz calming Yasir down became center of attention afterwards with reports of rifts between the two.

However, in a video message sent to Geo by fast bowler Wahab Riaz, the duo have denied reports of any fight between the two.

Wahab Riaz, sitting next to Yasir in the video, brushed aside all such stories as baseless and fabricated.

“There is no truth in whatever the media is showing,” Wahab said in the video.

“I and Yasir are very good friends and united. We will play the match (against Australia) with full unity,” he added.

Yasir Shah also shared a photograph with Wahab Riaz, both smiling, on his twitter account.

Earlier, a team official also tried to play down the report saying whatever happened between the two was merely “heat of the moment” and nothing more.

“It happens when you’re fully involved in a football match, nothing serious and nothing to worry,” the official told Geo.tv.

Meanwhile, chairman PCB Shahryar Khan stated that he would seek a report from manager on the incident but added that any such thing shouldn’t be blown out of proportion.

“No one is above discipline, I will wait for manager’s report on the incident before commenting on this incident,” he added.

“A little argument between player is nothing new, we will see if there was any breach of code or it was just a routine matter,” the chairman PCB added.
