Firing incident in Peshawar claims life of police officer

PESHAWAR: Unidentified men opened fire on a police mobile in Tahkal, Peshawar, killing one police officer, while two others were left injured.

According to police, unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire on police mobile, resulting in the death of a police officer, while two police officers sustained injuries.

One of the assailants was killed during retaliatory fire by police, while the other escaped on motorcycle, said police.

Dead body of the assailant was shifted to the morgue.

Police recovered a pistol and some documents from the suspects’ possession.

According to police, search operation is in place for the arrest of the absconded suspect.
