ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has expressed concerns over the detention of Hurriyat leaders in Indian-occupied Kashmir, read a statement issued from the Foreign Office.

As per the statement, Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Yasin Malik, Shabir Shah and Asiya Andrabi were arrested/detained so that they do not attend the Pakistan Day function at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi on Thursday.  The statement read that these arbitrary restrictions were against the principles of democracy and freedom of movement.
