Radd-ul-Fasaad: Punjab Rangers arrest 57 suspects

RAWALPINDI: Fifty-seven suspects including 21 Afghan nationals were arrested by Punjab Rangers in search and intelligence based operations across the province, according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The operations were held in different across Punjab including Attock, Islamabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Shiekhupura, Lahore, DG Khan, Rahimyar Khan and Rajanpur. A cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered.

Moreover, FC Balochistan conducted an intelligence-based operation in Nushki area of Balochistan. The operation resulted in recovery of huge cache of ammunition along with large quantity of narcotics.

The ammunition and narcotics were found buried in a cave.

Pakistan Army had launched a nationwide military operation 'Radd-ul-Fasaad' on February 22, after a series of back-to-back terrorist attacks across the country, in which more than a 100 people lose their lives.

The operation aimed to eliminate the residual and latent threat of terrorism, consolidate the gains of operations undertaken so far and ensure the security of Pakistan’s borders.
