Chief justice of Lahore High Court has taken notice of alleged torture of MNA Jamshed Dasti’s in jail on Thursday.

The LHC chief justice has demanded a report on the matter from the sessions judge Sarghoda and the anti-terrorism court.

The judges will send their report after visiting the jail on June 30.

Dasti has said he was being tortured in the jail where he was imprisoned for forcefully opening a canal gate.

He had also requested for protection.

Taking action on Dasti`s claim, Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has constituted a medical board to check the veracity of his claims.

The MNA was put behind bars by the Punjab police for forcibly opening a canal gate in Muzaffargarh on May 28, following which the irrigation department lodged a case against him.
