WhatsApp is all set to make a major change to its 'delete for everyone' feature.

Launched last year, the feature initially allowed users to delete a message within seven minutes of sending it.

Later, the messaging service increased the time limit to 1 hour 8 minutes and 16 seconds.

WhatsApp introduced the 'Delete for Everyone' feature late last year.

The company is now reportedly planning to improve the feature for better user experience.

According to WABetaInfo, a Twitter account that tracks changes in WhatsApp’s beta builds, the company will roll out an update that will not allow users to delete their messages after 13 hours, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds of sending the message.

What does it mean

If you use the 'delete for everyone' option, the message won't be deleted if the recipient doesn't receive the revoke request within 13 hours, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds (maybe because the phone was off).

The new update will be a protection against modded users that revoked messages sent weeks, months, and even years ago.

"You can still delete a message for everyone within 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds as long as the recipient will receive your revoke request within 13 hours, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds,” says the Tweet.

WhatsApp is expected to roll out the feature along with the stickers update in the coming days.
