LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Hamza Shehbaz, the leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, today (Wednesday), sources informed Geo News.

According to the sources, the NAB Lahore has sent a notice to the junior Shehbaz, the son of former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif, to appear in the court Wednesday afternoon at 1 PM.

It is noteworthy that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader has earlier appeared in the NAB Lahore in the clean water company case as well as over possessing assets beyond his income. Hamza Shehbaz was also stopped from travelling abroad a few days ago as his name was added in the Exit Control List (ECL).

In this regard, the young leader has requested protective bail to avoid a possible arrest in the assets beyond income case, which is currently being investigated by the NAB Lahore.

In addition to this, the anti-graft body is also investigating him and his brother, Salman Shehbaz, for the illegal construction of a bridge and links to at least 56 companies, due to which it had requested that the brothers' names be added to the ECL.
