ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesman Dr Muhammad Faisal on Friday condemned the IED attack in occupied Kashmir in which 44 Indian soldiers were killed.

“We strongly reject any insinuation by elements in Indian government and media circles that seek to link the attack to State of Pakistan without investigations,” Dr Faisal tweeted.

The Foreign Office spokesman added that the attack in Indian occupied Kashmir was a matter of grave concern and Pakistan had always condemned heightened acts of violence in the Valley.

Following the attack, India has threatened to take all possible steps to isolate Pakistan. Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told reporters New Delhi would remove trade privileges which would include Pakistan being removed from the most favoured privileges given under the World Trade Organization rules.

Thursday's attack was the deadliest on Indian forces in IoK in more than a decade. In September 2016, 19 Indian soldiers were killed in a pre-dawn attack on the Uri army camp.
