KARACHI: Opener Kamran Akmal's 86 runs and fast bowler Hasan Ali's three-wicket haul helped Peshawar Zalmi beat Karachi Kings by 61 runs in Monday's second fixture at the National Stadium, in a low-stakes clash that did not involve a do-or-die situation for either team.

Kings were all out for 142 in 16.2 overs, in their 204 run-chase.

Colin Ingram offered some resistance with his 71 off 37 balls, including seven boundaries and four sixes. Soon after his departure, Kings lost their chasing streak.

Skipper Imad Wasim scored 30 off 25 before giving his wicket to Hasan Ali.

Sameen Gul and Wahab Riaz picked two wickets each.

With today's game, the playoff matches have been confirmed.

First Innings

Mohammad Amir picked three wickets off 24 runs, giving an emotional tribute to his mother who passed away last week.

Colin Munro picked two while Usman Shinwari bagged one wicket.

Akmal was well assisted by Imam-ul-Haq's 59 off 40 balls before falling to Amir.

Karachi’s thrilling one-run victory against top-ranked Quetta Gladiators Sunday rendered both of Monday's matches as virtual dead rubber contests.

Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United and Karachi Kings are safely through to the playoffs.
