Lahore man arrested for stabbing wife to death for leaving him over drug addiction

LAHORE: A man who stabbed his wife to death for leaving over his drug addiction in Misri Shah was arrested Wednesday, local police confirmed.

The senior superintendent of police (SSP) for investigation, Zeeshan Asghar, said the woman had gone to her parents' house, frustrated over the addiction problem of her husband, identified as Adil.

However, Adil went to his in-laws' residence to reconcile with his wife but repeatedly stabbed her with a knife instead, killing her on the spot, SSP Asghar added. He also noted that police used latest technology to nab the suspect.

A first information report (FIR) was registered over the murder, the police officer said and an investigation initiated.
