According to the FIR, the Sehwan Police arrested a couple and produced them before a civil judge in early January. The judge took the girl with him to the chamber adjacent to the courtroom and assaulted her.

The victim, who is presently confined to a state-run facility, said that she had only come forward with a complaint against the judge to protect others from the alleged predator.

The News tried to approach the accused judge, called at his cell number and also sent him a text message, for his version of the events, but till the filing of the story, the judge had not responded.
