Model Town FIR against PM Nawaz, CM Shahbaz, 19 others

LAHORE: The First Information Report (FIR) against the Model Town incident which left 11 people dead has been registered against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and 19 others.


Geo News obtained a copy of the FIR, which was lodged in the Faisal Town police station under sections 149, 148, 109 and 155.

The FIR had been registered following the orders of Lahore High Court (LHC) under various sections including murder and attempt to murder.

FIR not acceptable: Qadri

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Tahirul Qadri however has rejected the FIR, saying the case has not been registered under the sections of anti-terrorism act.

Earlier, the Minhaj-ul-Quran had accused 21 persons including the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Punjab and federal and provincial ministers for their alleged involvement in the Model Town incident.

The federal government had issued directives to register a case as per the complaint of the aggrieved party. The decision was also endorsed by the Punjab government.
