Bilawal visits Sukkur Barrage, meets flood affectees
SUKKUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Patron-in-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday paid visits to the Sukkur Barrage and Alra Bund in Khairpur to monitor the situation in the wake of flash floods and distributed relief goods among the affected people.

A statement issued by the PPP said Bilawal assured the flood affectees that his party will not abondone them in this hour of need. Relief and rescue operations will continue till the flood situation persisted, he announced.

Senior Minister for Irrigation Nisar Khuhro and Secretary Zaheer Hyder Shah briefed the PPP chairman on the occasion. Khuhro said that Irrigation staff was available for 24 hours monitoring protective embankments and prepared to face any eventuality.

Bilawal later visited Alra Bund and village Garhi Pathan where he met with the flood affectees at relief camps and listened to difficulties being faced by them. He distributed relief goods among the villagers from Katcha areas.

He also visited a temporary school established for the flood affected children and exchanged greetings with teachers and students.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Senior Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, MNA Nafeesa Shah, Syed Javed Shah, Jillani Noman, Islam Shaikh, Jameel Soomro, Mushtaq Surahyo, Lal Bux Mangi and others were present during the visit.
