Mathews takes Sri Lanka to 2 wicket win

DUBAI: Sri Lanka win the 2nd ODI at Dubai Cricket Stadium by 2 wickets to make it 1-1 in the five match series against Pakistan.

Skipper Angelo Mathews bringing all his experience in to play, kept his calm to score a 44 ball 47 to see his side home.

A good opening partnership of 49 between Perera and Dilshan gave the Sri Lankans a solid start.

But more importantly the middle order batsmen kept up the work and a solid 94 run partnership between Chandimal and Sangakara brought them closer to victory.

Some good bowling by Junaid Khan who eventually finished with 3-52, brought Pakistan back into the game.

Angelo Mathews with a 6th wicket partnership of 57 with Kulasekara and then an 8th wicket partnership of 44 with Karunaratne took the game away from Pakistan for which he was later declared player of the match.
