Fifth polio case of 2014 surfaces in Karachi

KARACHI: The fifth polio case of 2014 surfaced in the city when an 18 month old was reported to have contracted the virus in the Gaddap area.

According to the Anti-Polio Cell, 18 month old Ayaz Rasool was not administered polio drops.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has recommended that Pakistanis travelling abroad should present polio vaccination certificates. The recommendation was put forward as Pakistan has failed to eliminate the polio virus.
