Meta-owned instant messaging app, WhatsApp is up with another feature update, "channel alerts", for iOS.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature has been designed to notify channel owners of important violations by providing real-time notifications to channel administrators, ensuring that the platform is safe.

The update has been made available to some beta testers who have installed the 23.25.10.77 version update on the iOS, and will soon be rolled out to more users.

This screenshot shows a new screen for channel alerts within the channel info screen.

The new addition will offer the channel owners essential insights into the current status of their channels.

"When everything shared in the channel complies with the channel policy, the channel alerts screen will report that there are no current alerts, expressing gratitude for following the channel guidelines. However, in case there is an issue, channel owners will need to address it promptly to avoid a lifetime suspension of their channels," the WhatsApp news tracker stated.

This feature not only notifies the channel owners to promptly address concerns but also acts as a preventive measure against potential severe penalties, such as a lifetime suspension of their channels, contributing to a safer and more responsible platform experience.
