LinkedIn, known as an professional networking and recruitment platform with more than 1 billion users, is expanding into gaming to deliver a more satisfying user experience and increase duration of stay on the platform, TechCrunch reported.

This move of LinkedIn which seemed to be rather surprising was actually made after the high level of success of simple puzzle games like Wordle and now the company has decided to try a new way of user engagement on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn's first foray into the gaming world through the introduction of titles such as "Queen’, "Inference’, and "Crossclimb’ all fuel the Puzzle craze that stirred millions of gamers.

A spokesperson from LinkedIn has confirmed the project’s gaming aspect, but there is still no known official release date. The spokesperson noted that the integration of puzzled games within the platform became a strategy to enhance the enjoyment, increase the connections and activate quality discussions among users.

As a part of Microsoft that rules the gaming industry, including Xbox and the recent acquisition of Activation Blizzard, the move into the gaming sector aligns with Microsoft's gaming position. But the form and nature of Microsoft's involvement in LinkedIn's gaming initiative cannot be disclosed.

While the platform's recent additions were associated with professional development and content creation, the introduction of gaming reveals a strategic evolution in response to rising user interests.
