Nicole Kidman is celebrating her four decades in the movie industry.

The 56-year-old actress took to Instagram and marked her 41 years in the industry by sharing a throwback video of her first role at the age of 14 and commemorated her milestone of receiving the American Film Institute Lifetime Achievement Award on April 27.

Nicole posted a montage video of her teenaged self as Helen in Bush Christmas in 1983 which was also her debut role.

“This 14-year-old girl could have never predicted all the talented people she would get to work with and the many different characters she would get to play,” Nicole wrote in the caption. “So excited to celebrate with so many friends and peers on Saturday with the @AmericanFilmInstitute xx.”

However, the Dead Calm actress is the first Australian actor to receive the AFI Life Achievement Award.

The American Film Institute announced that The Being the Ricardos actress will be receiving the Life Achievement Award in March 2024.

The AFI press release states, “Both a powerhouse performer, spellbinding movie star, and accomplished producer, Nicole Kidman has captured the imaginations of audiences throughout her prolific career, delivering complex and versatile performances onscreen,” as per People Magazine.

Its pertinent to mention that Nicole has been nominated 5 times for the Academy Awards and won her Oscar in 2003 for her role as Virginia Woolf in the film The Hours.

Moreover,  she has also received six Golden Globes, two Emmys, and a BAFTA Award.

The AFI Life Achievement Award Tribute will be held on April 27 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
