Five killed over land dispute in Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR: At least five people were gunned down on Sunday. Four of them were identified as Ali Ahmed, Ghulam Mustafa, Wazeer and Nawab, all Badani Jatoi .

Three others persons including Afzal, Nawab and Hassan received bullet injuries in an armed clash took place between two groups belonging to Arbelo Badani and Lao Badani Jatoi group at village Arbelo Jatoi situated in Katcha area in the jurisdiction of Kot Shahoo police station.

The motive behind the clash was said to be ongoing dispute over a piece of agricultural land. More than 34 people of both parties have already been killed in this dispute.

The bodies were handed over to relatives after postmortem from Khanpur hospital. The injured were referred to Civil Hospital Shikarpur for medical treatment.
Police arrested 12 suspects and began further probe.
