Emergency declared in Peshawar areas after flooding
PESHAWAR: Emergency has been declared in Hayatabad and Regi areas of the city after flooding on Friday.

Commissioner Peshawar has directed residents of these areas living next to canals and drains to move to safe ground.

Flooding was caused in areas of Peshawar after heavy rainfall in Khyber Agency raising the water level in drains. Water entered several homes and shops in Hayatabad, while several roads were inundated.

The Meteorological Department Friday forecast scattered rain with thundershowers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Upper Punjab during next 24 hours that will hopefully bring the temperature down.
