Sindh govt considers equipping Rangers with special powers
KARACHI: The Sindh government is considering proposals to equip Rangers with prosecution and investigation powers to curb violence in Karachi, Geo News reported Friday.

Sources said the government considered suggestion to put up special set-up for the paramilitary force in police stations. Sources added that there would be a counter for Rangers in five districts of the city at police stations.

Police officer and SHOs of the concerned police stations would not be transferred without the approval of Rangers.

It was also suggested that three investigation inspectors of police and a special prosecutors would be part of the Rangers set-up.
