PM to decide 'when & how' Mullah Baradar will be freed after returning home
ANKARA: Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, who is on an official visit to Turkey these days, Tuesday said that the time and the procedure of releasing Taliban leader, Mullah Ghani Baradar from prison would be decided upon his return to Pakistan, Geo News reported.

“I will myself decide as to when and how Mullah Baradar will be released after returning home on September 19”, said Sharif while talking to newsmen here.

The prime minister said that the decision to set Mullah Baradar free was taken during Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s recent visit to Pakistan.

He further said that however a decision to this effect had been taken in principle, but Pakistan had also made it clear that Baradar would not be handed over to Afghanistan directly.

According to sources, Baradar could be extradited to Turkey or Saudi Arabia.

The premier’s tour to Turkey ends on September 19.
