MQM strongly rejects ‘allegations’: Haider Abbas Rizvi
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Haider Abbas Rizvi on Tuesday denied what he termed the ‘allegations’ leveled against his party by the police and Rangers.

Replying to a question while talking to Geo News, he said these allegations are not new for MQM, as these kind of accusations were also leveled in the past only to be withdrawn later on. “We just hope that this time it wouldn’t take 17 years for these allegations to be withdrawn”.

He said MQM not only denies these allegations but also condemns them in strongest terms, and demanded an inquiry into the same.

Earlier, Karachi police claimed to have arrested an MQM worker allegedly involved in the killing of Naimat Ali Randhava.

Addressing a press conference, Karachi Police Chief Shahid Hayat said that Kazim Abbas Rizvi was arrested last night. He said that the accused was member of MQM’s Unit-178.

The MQM held a press conference in the evening and heavily criticized Pakistan Rangers Sindh for raiding one of its offices in Landhi as part of ongoing targeted operation in Karachi.

However, in reaction, the Sindh Rangers in a statement rejected as misleading the claims made by ‘a political party at a press conference against the raid on its office earlier today’.

“Indian made weapons have been recovered from the office of the political party,” said the spokesman of Sindh Rangers.
