Karachi: 4 suspects linked to TTP, Lyari gangs held
KARACHI: Lawn enforcers have claimed to have arrested four suspects for their alleged links with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Lyari gang war and recovered arms, Geo News reported Wednesday.

According to CID officials, the arrested suspects had made terrorist plots to target Rangers Headquarters in Lyari and an Imam Bargah in Orangi Town.

The anti-terrorist wing of CID took into custody two suspects identified as Altaf Baloch and Zubair Baloch from a SITE area near Ghani Chowrangi. Raja Umer Khatab said that they were associates of the three terrorists who had lost their lives while shifting explosives near Manghopir Eidgah.

These suspects, he said, were trained for bomb making and terrorist activities in District Qilla Abdullah of Balochistan. They had plans to execute their terrorist acts on the Rangers Headquarters in Lyari and an Imam Bargah in Orangi Town, he added.

Seven to eight more members of this group are still at large.

Security official said that the accused had formed an organization named ‘Emirates of Islamia Afghanistan’ in Lyari, whose amir is Ismail Pathan.

In the second action, two members of Lyari gangs identified as Abdul Rehman alias Sain and Kamran alias Baba were taken into custody from Old Sabzi Mandi along with weapons.

The accused are said to be involved in 17 acts of target killing and extortion.
