Government removes obstacles, talks with Taliban expected to start in 2 weeks
ISLAMABAD: The team which will hold talks with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is being finalised, high-level sources revealed to Geo News on Friday.

The team will consist of government officials, politicians, Ulema, intellectuals and experts on military affairs.

According to sources, the government has removed obstacles in talks with the Taliban. One of the obstacles faced by the government was the presence of several Taliban factions. Formal talks with the Taliban are expected to start in the next two weeks.

Sources add that during the talks, both parties will observe an unannounced ceasefire.

In a statement issued on Friday, the TTP said they had “no contact” with the government.
