PTI to bring about 9-point anti-inflation agenda, says Imran Khan
LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, says his party will very soon bring forth a 9-point agenda against inflation, Geo News reported.

“I want to warn the masses to brace for further hike in prices as what they are coping with right now is just tip of the iceberg”, said he addressing a rally here on Sunday.

The PTI Sunday staged a protest rally against unrestrained inflation, which saw a huge participation.

Khan turned up the heat on the government for turning a blind eye to the masses, whose stoves were lying cold owing to their continually ebbing affordability.

“People should not vote for those politicians who don’t keep their money in Pakistan. How can we trust those who don’t trust Pakistan with their wealth? Neither can they be sincere to Pakistan nor can they look US in the eyes”, said he.

The PTI chief also came down hard on the financial managers of the country for making a complete mess of the economy.

"Our government would not print banknotes to run the economy of the country like others did. It only adds to inflation, which has gone through the roof", he said.

Khan said that revenue worth Rs300 billion could be collected by bringing 3 million defaulters under the tax net.

Speaking on the US drone strikes, he reiterated that they were not in the favour of Pakistan at all.

“We do not want war with the US. We only want to convince the superpower that drone attacks are not helping the situation. Washington will not be able to achieve the desired results with such attacks. So far, they have proven to be counterproductive for both Pakistan and US”, said he.

Khan also urged the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to dig in his heels against the drone attacks.

"The premier should take a firm stand against America's repeated violation of Pakistan's sovereignty", Khan said.

During his address, he announced to stage anti-inflation rallies in Umer Kot and Rawalpindi on January 6 and 24 respectively.
