Karachi faces major power breakdown

KARACHI: Various parts of the city are without electricity due to what the K Electric said tripping in the National Grid since 5:00 am.

Though the K-Electric claimed that power supply to 70 percent affected areas had been restored, reports said Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Lyari, Defence and Clifton were still facing load shedding.

A spokesman for the K-Electric said that repair work was underway to restore the electricity supply.

He said that the administration was in contact with the authorities after production unit of K-Electric tripped following the power supply from the national grid was cut.
