Senate passes resolution against unconstitutional demands
ISLAMABAD: The Senate adopted a resolution against unconstitutional demands made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).

The resolution presented by PPP Senator Saeed Ghani rejected the unconstitutional demands of the prime minister’s resignation and dissolution of assemblies. The resolution also condemned the use of abusive and derogatory langue by PTI and PAT leaders.

The Senate also approved the privilege motion of PPP Senator Farhatullah Babar against the route to parliament being blocked. Babar said if demands of protestors sitting outside parliament were met, it would set a dangerous precedent as in the future someone can demand Pakistan’s nuclear assets.

PML-N Senator Mushaidullah Khan said the government would continue to advocate dialogue. ANP leader Afrasiyab Khattak said democratic forces had joined together and the march had failed.
