NA resolution condemns attacks on journalists by protestors
ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly approved a resolution condemning the attacks on journalists by participants of the sit-in.

The resolution approved unanimously was tabled by Aftab Ahmed Sheikh and said that freedom of expression was a fundamental right and should be respected by all.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said the media was being harassed by participants of the sit-in if they were not providing favourable coverage.

On Thursday night, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers manhandled Geo News staff at the venue of their sit-in at D-Chowk shortly after Imran Khan concluded his speech.

The angry PTI workers, who have been listening to Khan’s rants against country’s largest media group since the inception of the Azadi March, threw sticks and empty bottles of water at a female reporter of Geo News.

PTI workers chanted slogans against Geo News and Jang Group forcing TV staff to shut their DSNG system.
