Van carrying Jang newspapers attacked in Lahore
LAHORE: A vehicle carrying copies of the Daily Jang and The News newspapers was set on fire near Mayo Hospital in Lahore on Friday morning, Geo News reported.

The driver and helper of the vehicle remained unharmed in the attack.

The vehicle carrying thousands of copies of the Daily Jang and The News was attacked when the driver was on way to the newspaper market and reached near Mayo Hospital. Armed culprits riding three motorcycles and a car asked the driver and helper to step out of the van and snatched their mobile phones and cash.

The attackers, then, doused the van with chemicals and set it on fire and fled from the scene unharmed.





Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot and tamed the flames. The driver told that there were seven attackers who set the vehicle on fire.

Later, the required number of newspapers were re-printed and sent to market.

It may be mentioned that similar attacks have also taken place in Rawalpindi and Karachi earlier as well.
