Urdu speaking can become Sindh chief minister : Qadir Magsi
DALLAS: Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party Chairman Qadir Magsi has said that Urdu speaking are also Sindhi and they can become Chief Minister of Sindh too.

However, Altaf Hussain’s dream that an MQM member will become a Chief Minister will never come true, at least not in his lifetime.

Mr. Magsi was talking to Geo/ Jang correspondent at Sindhi Association of North Texas President Moazzam Bhangar’s residence in Dallas.

He said that Altaf Hussain used Sindh as a bargaining chip on even trivial matters. This is the reason he stages a drama every day.

He said Zulfiqar Mirza has given a tough fight and now he has gone home. He said that Zulfiqar Mirza did this as Zardari was bothering him for return of his sugar mills, so he instead of confronting with Zardari, targeted MQM in the proxy war as Zardari and MQM were darlings of each other during those days.

He said that now Zulfiqar Mirza has got two sugar mills back to him and they have settled the issues between them.

Dr. Qadir Magsi has said that elections in Pakistan are drama and all elections in last 67 years were engineered and those who do not fit in their system are thrown out.

He said that entire world has adopted the electronic voting system but Pakistan is still using the old system as with the new system they cannot manipulate results.

This way, those who take advantage of the state and its system can keep their control on power, he said.

Magsi said MQM’s opposition to the feudal system is not more than rhetoric as whenever elections are held they side with feudal lords.

He said that MQM has pitched Urdu speaking community against every other community in order to create an environment of insecurity for them to take advantage.

He said that selfless people like him had shattered the dream of Muhajir Desh and if time comes again, he will again give a fight.

He said that Sindhi feudal lords are cowards as in 80’s when things went difficult, they left their houses and moved to villages, but we put resistance.

Magsi said that since Pakistan’s independence, we have seen four Urdu speaking army chiefs and not a single Sindhi speaking in all these years.

The Sindhi nationalist said that Pakistan is not just takht e Lahore and all powers should not stay with Rawalpindi.

Qadir Magsi said a change is not possible until the system does not get changed and fair and free elections are not held. Moazzam Bhangar, Faiz ullah Abbasi, Sarfaraz Abbasi, Umeed Ali Laghari, Imtiaz Pirzada, Imran Pirzada, and others were also present during the interview
