8 killed, 11 injured in Balochistan road mishap
QUETTA: At least eight people including seven children were killed and eleven others injured in a head on collision between a Karachi-bound passenger coach and a truck in Uthal area of Lasbela district on Monday.

Police said that a bus carrying passengers was on way from Quetta to Karachi on RCD highway when it collided head on with a truck coming from opposite side resulting in death of eight people and injuring of 11 others including women and children.

The accident took place due to over speed of the passenger coach when the driver lost his control on driving and struck the bus into the truck coming from opposite site the police said.

The rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the dead and injured to hospital. Later some of the injured were taken to Karachi due to their serious condition.

The police said that six people died on the spot and two others succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital. According to hospital sources, most of the dead and injured were children and women.

The driver of the passenger coach managed to escape from the scene.

Further investigation is underway.
