Munawar statement deserves clarification: Ashrafi

LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Allama Tahir Ashrafi on Saturday said the statement of former Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Munawar Hasan deserves clarification.

According to a statement issued here, Allama Tahir Ashrafi said if the former Jamat-e-Islami Munawar Hasan is so keen on initiating ‘Qitaal Fi Sabeel Allah’ against the existing system then he should start it with his party chief Siraj ul Haq, who is also a legislator.

Earlier, addressing a public gathering in Lahore city, Munawwar Hasan had called for the replacement of democratic system with the culture of ‘Jihad’.

Munawwar Hassan ruled out the resolution of issues through democratic disposition and instead called for promoting the culture of ‘Jihad’ to overcome the present challenges.
