Sharing information important to deal with terrorism: Nawaz

KATHMANDU: Pakistan Prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif stated that the region faces challenges like poverty and hunger and South Asia has faced a lot of devastation due to floods and information sharing was essential in creating awareness against floods and terrorism.

Addressing the SAARC leaders conference he said that the economic development of the South Asian countries was inter linked and all stakeholders needed to work together to bring peace and prosperity to the region.

He also said that SAARC had an important role to play in building confidence amongst the member countries.

Nawaz Sharif expressed his joy on the fact that all South Asian countries had democracy but felt that the trade volume was low due to lack of strong connections between the SAARC countries.

The Pakistan PM congratulated Nepal for the immaculate arrangements for the conference.

He concluded by saying that the SAARC countries needed to cooperate with each other and learn from each others experiences to eradicate poverty and disease.
