PeshawarAttack: Terrorists were in contact with handlers in Afghanistan
WEBDESK: The Taliban militants that launched a brazen attack at the Army Public School in Peshawar were in contact with handlers in Afghanistan, Geo News has learnt.

According to Geo News’ Islamabad Bureau Chief Rana Jawad, Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant-General Rizwan Akhtar made an emergency visit to Afghanistan where they met with the Afghan President and the ISAF commander in Afghanistan.

The Pakistani Generals shared intelligence that was intercepted while the attack at the Army Public School in Peshawar was underway.

Rana Jawad added, that the Taliban militants were in contact with numbers in Afghanistan and that intelligence was matured till later in the evening and after confirmation the information was shared with the Afghan counterparts.

He concluded that, the information was shared immediately without wasting any time, with the confidence that the results of the investigation will be shared with Pakistan, but it is most likely that the roots of the Peshawar attack go back to Afghanistan.
