Asfandyar lauds resumption of executions
PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali on Monday termed the decision to resume executions of terrorists as positive step, saying the decision should have been taken earlier.

Addressing a ceremony here, the ANP chief expressed sorrow and grief over the Peshawar school tragedy, saying he had no words to condemn the barbaric incident.

He said that Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) were not being treated properly. He cautioned that the situation would go from bad to worse, had the IDPs were made to feel disappointed.

Mr. Wali added the region had witnessed the eras of Genghis Khan, Taimoor, Ranjeet Singh and Babar Shah but there is no parallel to the Peshawar school-like attack in its entire history.

“It’s necessary to rid the country of Zia ul Haq’s policies to eliminate terrorism”, ANP chief asserted, warning several other schools would witness barbaric attacks, if policies of Zia ul Haq were allowed to continue.
