Two Punjab Rangers martyred by Indian BSF
LAHORE: Two personnel of the Punjab Rangers were martyred in an unprovoked firing incident during a visit for a flag meeting invitation by Border Security Force (BSF) in Shakargarh district on Wednesday.

According to sources at the Punjab Rangers, the two officers along with three soldiers had been invited to meet with the commanders at BSF and upon reaching the border trek near their destination, they were fired upon by the BSF.

As a result Naik Riaz Shakir and Lance Naik Safdar were seriously injured.

They were immediately taken to hospital, however they succumbed to their injuries. Their accompanying three soldiers escaped unhurt.
