PM to chair APC on National Action Plan
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will chair the All Parties Conference (APC) on the anti-terrorism National Action Plan (NAP) and formation of special courts.

The meeting will be held at the PM House and Asif Ali Zardari, Imran Khan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Sirjaul Haq, Aftab Sherpao along with other political leaders will be in attendance. The chief ministers of all four provinces will also be attending the meeting.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has also arrived at the PM House to attend the meeting along with DG ISI Lt. General Rizwan Akhtar.

Matters pertaining to the formation of special courts will be discussed along with the implementation of the NAP.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to address the APC prior to the start of the meeting and outline decisions taken to eliminate terrorism following the tragedy in Peshawar.

This will be the prime minister’s third attempt at establishing a consensus on the formation of special courts among the country’s political leadership.

According to sources, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is expected to extend its support for the formation of special courts, but will not support moves to amend the constitution for this purpose.

Prior to the meeting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan spoke to the media outside his Bani Gala residence stating that if the Army Act was strengthened there would be no need to amend the constitution.
