MQM rebuts Saulat Mirza’s allegations; Altaf calls it pack of lies
KARACHI: In the wake of grave allegations hurled by death row inmate Sualat Mirza, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders including its chief Altaf Hussain termed them a pack of lies.

Hussain said that the video message was an attempt to destroy the image of MQM and was a part of a conspiracy being hatched to malign him and his party’s leaders.

He said that he had neither met with Mirza nor spoken to him ever in his life.

The MQM chief said that he has never been scared of any kind of court trial. He said that legal and constitutional experts would assist him in the decision of coming back to Pakistan.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of Governor House said that Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has never provided shelter to any convict or suspect. The governor does not enjoy the authority to provide shelter to any suspect, he added.

MQM leader Babar Ghauri also denied allegations hurled at him, saying he had never directed Mirza to carry out any killing. “Altaf bhai never told me to give any such directions to Sualat Mirza or anyone else,” he said.

Ghauri said that he had neither been involved in any wrongdoings in the past nor was he doing anything wrong now.
