MQM condemns leaked Imran-Alvi conversation
ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) lawmakers staged protest demonstration outside parliament house against leaked conversation between PTI Chief Imran Khan and Arif Alvi.

The MQM MPs condemned the conversation, saying that the recording shows Imran was carrying out undemocratic acts during the sit-in. They said MQM believes only in democracy.

They also demanded suspension of Imran Khan’s assembly membership under article 62 and 63.

Speaking on the occasion, MQM leader Farooq Sattar said, “Attack on the state television is the most dangerous act.”

Earlier, a private conversation between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Dr Arif Alvi discussing the attack on PTV was leaked on social media.

During the conversation Arif Alvi informs Imran Khan about the PTV attack and the shutting down of transmission. Imran Khan responds: “That is good, they deserve it.”

“It is all a question of forcing Nawaz to resign,” Imran tells Alvi, adding that there needs to be pressure on Nawaz to resign before the joint session.

Alvi in the conversation informs Imran Khan of trying to reach the MQM and waiting for their response. To this Imran Khan responded that Alvi should keep on trying. “You have to put maximum pressure today for a result tomorrow,” Khans said during the conversation.

The office of PTV was attacked in September 2014 during the PTI and PAT sit-ins in Islamabad. In a press conference Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid had said that PTI was behind the attack.
