Six terrorists executed Ismaili bus attack: police
KARACHI: Six heavily armed terrorists on 125 cc motorbikes carried out the attack on a bus of Ismaili community here at Safoora Chowrangi, said police officials investigating the incident.

In the initial investigation findings, the police officials said that two of the terrorists were attired in the uniforms of a private security company.

The terrorists made their way into the bus from the rear entrance, gunned down the driver and then opened indiscriminate fire on the passengers using 9 mm pistols and SMGs.

At least 45 people were killed and several others injured after the attack.

Between 60 and 65 people were riding the overloaded bus, which belonged to the Ismaili community. The bus was traveling towards Aisha Manzil when it was attacked.

Meanwhile, IG Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali has constituted a high-powered committee under Additional IG Ghulam Qadir Thebo to launch a probe into the massacre. DIG East, DIG West, DIG CTD and DIG CIA, SSP Malir and SSP East are included in the committee.

In another development Rangers personnel have carried out raids in Safoora Goth and Sohrab Goth following the bus attack and rounded up 18 suspects, said the spokesman of Sindh Rangers.

He further said that investigation from the suspects was underway.
