Rangers ran into heavy armed resistance from a group of shooters as they tried to bust a hideout in Surjani Town. One Rangers personnel was wounded.
Three suspected militants were killed in the gunfight.
The militants were said to belong to a banned outfit involved in a number of terrorist attacks.
A huge cache of weapons was also found.
